Burn New Bern

We celebrate another month of corporately encountering the presence of God.  This month we met at Garber UMC Ministry Center with a diverse line up of worship teams leading musical worship for 12 continuous hours.  We also had intercessors throughout the night and various artists painting what the Lord put on their heart.  We always have behind-the-scenes workers like shift leaders, sound techs and logistics servants holding the fort down so others can operate freely without reservation.

This wasn't planned…

First things first. No one likes last minute surprises so it was a little bit of a bummer when we had to change venues the week before the Burn. A huge thank you goes out to Latitude Church who opened their doors to us.

The night started out with high energy. Dancing, jumping, and spinning were common the first few hours. We had a full house until the early morning hours.

There was a cry in the night that New Bern belongs to Jesus.

During my prayer time, I got a word from the Lord for New Bern.

There is so much glory being poured out over New Bern and surrounding areas that we're going to have to get bigger buckets!  We are in a season of new wine being poured out and we can't expect for it to fit in the contours of the old wineskins of the past (or wineskins with holes). We are boldly proclaiming throughout this region that the Holy Spirit is welcome here and I'm fully confident that we are seeing fruit as the cry of our hearts resound.  I encourage you in this season to keep pressing in…

This month's Burn wasn't super large in numbers due to conflicting events in the area but it was large in passion and purpose.  Sometimes we can get distracted and discouraged when we work really hard to set something up by being the Martha (serving) so that others can enjoy the fruits of that labor with the opportunity to be the Mary (soaking).  Don't be discouraged for we work as though we're working for the Lord (Colossians 3:23).  Even though that is a reality, we delight in the fact that our purpose…

Psalm 42:1-2 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Psalm 42:7-8 Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me — a prayer to the God of my life.

At least 11 churches came together to meet with God. Over a dozen people pushed on through the night and made it until 7 in the morning…

“Look how good and how pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil on the head, descending to the beard— even to Aaron’s beard— and flowing down to the edge of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon falling on Zion’s mountains. For there the LORD commanded his blessing— life everlasting.” Psalm 133 We often talk about the “commanded blessing” of the Lord on our lives, rarely do we stop to think about what that means for us as believers. If we take the time to search… Read more

Burn New Bern @ Kingdom Impact Ministries

I was a bit stressed this month because I was trying to organize logistics leading up to our Nov 28/29 Burn at Kingdom Impact Ministries while being sick and one by one my leaders understandably starting bailing on me due to sickness or other spiritual warfare type issues.  By the day of the Burn, I had like 8 worship leaders, sound techs and shift leaders cancel and I was determined that we would press-in even harder with the remnant of servants still standing…
