Hello Burn Community,
My name is Todd Ferebee and I serve as a shift leader during that 3-7 AM time slot when all the other people in our region are sleeping. There is something powerful about fasting sleep and just spending time with him during those hours. I recall how Jesus was in so much anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane and all He wanted from his disciples was just an hour of their time to pray with Him so that they could share His burden. Wow. Anyway, this past month's Burn was incredible! I think what made this Burn so incredible was the fact that it so happened that the Lord called us to end our 40 day fast at the end of this Burn.
On the afternoon of May 27th, I was about to work on a task that the Holy Spirit had given me in preparation for this particular Burn when I felt a check in my spirit. I thought, "Hmmmm. Something isn't right in my spirit. I need to get back in my place of rest with Him." So I walk outside of my office and I just start loving on God in prayer. You know those special moments. Mmmmmm. Yeah. So we are just lavishing our love and affection on one another when all of a sudden I get this vision of me laying on the floor of my office. Now my office is pretty small and I wasn't sure why it had to be on the floor of my office but I was obedient. So I get down on my office floor and I just continue lavishing my love on Him. Within about two or three minutes of laying on the floor, the state of my physical and spiritual man gets so relaxed that I am in the process of falling asleep. All of a sudden I hear a popping noise. I said, "Lord, what was that?" He said, "That was your back My son." I said, "My back?" I had forgotten all about my lifelong scoliosis condition. So I take my socks and shoes off and walk outside. I stretch out both of my feet to check the length and both of my legs are the same for the first time ever! Yeah! I was so excited. I called my pastor and starting texting and calling friends and family, etc. Later that afternoon I would walk around the block and share this testimony with everyone that was outside. The joy was contagious and it began to spread all throughout the neighborhood. This healing actually took place 3 hours before the Burn even started!!!! I was thinking, "Yeah. This particular Burn is going to be off of the hook."
After spreading this testimony all around the neighborhood, it was getting late. It was Memorial Day weekend and I was starting to get concerned about the traffic. So I pack up my stuff and head to the Burn. As I arrive, I hear the Lord say to bring in the ram's horn. So I walk in the door of TJ's Cave with the ram's horn and the atmosphere is as thick and tangible as I have ever felt since coming to the Burn. We are now in the middle of Brittany Thompson's worship set. I am getting excited in my spirit. I am expecting something to break out at any moment. During the middle of one of Brittany's songs, I hear the Lord say, "Blow the horn." I start arguing with Him. Come on! Don't tell me you don't argue with Him! I said, "Lord, NOW? In the middle of the song?!" He said, "Yes My son." I said, "OK Lord." So I blow the ram's horn and the atmosphere of the entire room shifts. I feel very strange on the inside. I am thinking, "Lord something doesn't feel right in the room. Did I just ruin the atmosphere?" I got nothing back in return. So I get on my face before the Lord and I said, "Lord, did I miss something? Didn't you tell me to blow the horn? I am sorry if I missed hearing Your voice." He said, "Yes My Son. I did. When you just blew the ram's horn, you sent the atmosphere that is in this place out into the other parts of the region." I got up off of the floor and I thought, "Wow Lord. Really? You are so awesome." So I tell Michael about it and then continue worshiping. Then I got to thinking, is this even scriptural? The Lord leads me to Revelation 8:1-6 where it says:
“When He (Jesus) opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that He should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden alter which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.”
And there it was. "Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth." The atmosphere that was filled with the Presence of God after 40 days of prayer and fasting was now being hurled out into the uttermost parts of our region. What an exciting concept. Maybe when I get to heaven the Lord will reveal who got bombarded with the glory bomb. Haha! Anyhow, so the night was far from finished. The next two or three worship sets continued to wreck people left and right. There was one woman in particular who was on her face weeping before God and I heard the Lord say, "I am giving her a new heart." I saturated her with prayer and then later shared with her what the Lord gave me. In a later worship set, the joy of the Lord returned to her and she was laughing, dancing, singing, and clapping before the Lord. The Holy Spirit was on the move.
I wish I could share more but we are running out of space. It was an awesome night and one I will never forget. The breakfast was really awesome as well for those who stayed the whole night. If you missed it, you missed out on a great meal! I am excited to see what the Lord is doing through Burn New Bern and I look forward to seeing where the Lord takes us in this upcoming season.
