Hello Fire Starters,
I am pumped out of my mind for the Burn this month! There is a spiritual rumbling that is gaining momentum and we're right in the middle of it. The Burn last month was the least amount of people we've had since our inception but it was one of the most powerful and intimate ones that we've hosted. This month we're believing for one of the most attended Burns we've had with an overflowing amount of intimate encounter and a corporate outpouring to follow. We're not focused on having a hyped up event that fizzles upon completion. We're focused on lavishing our love on the Father that results in an extended lifestyle of worship with long term sustainment. I believe that it is significant that these two Burns span over the course of the 40 DAY CORPORATE PRAYER AND FASTING event that we have launched for our commUNITY... and beyond. It's typical that when a prayer meeting is called, only a few faithful servants show up. But when those faithful servants show up, there is a tremendous amount of power that is released! What will happen if we overflow the Prayer Room for the rest of these 40 days? What will happen if we overflow the CAVE for the next Burn and commit to going for it ALL NIGHT??? What if we offically break the fast together by literally breaking bread at 6am as a Burn finale?? Are YOU willing to make the sacrifice???
We can not stress how important it is for EVERYONE to jump in on our 40 DAY CORPORATE PRAYER AND FASTING event. Whether you are praying and/or fasting for 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or the whole 40 days, it's part of a collaborative effort that we get the PRIVILEGE of being part of. The Prayer Room at The Oasis/TJ's CAVE (eastern Craven County) and the Mission Xtreme Tent (western Craven County) are open from 6am-6pm the entire 40 days if you would like a place of refuge to come soak in His presence. Feel free to pray at your personal secret place or other local ministry locations. Let us know if you are participating with us by clicking "going" on the facebook events and please spread the word!!! There is POWER in unity! *NOTE* - There are multiple facebook events due to a 2 week max event length... even facebook can't keep up with us!!!
We invite and encourage anyone that is interested in serving as part of the Burn ministry team to join us for preBurns on 3rd Mondays each month. See BNB facebook events for details and let us know if you will be joining forces with us for logistical purposes!!!
Starting May 2nd, Michael & Sara Thorsby (Burn Directors) will be dedicating Monday nights for a Burn Community Group (BCG) for anyone interested. Our heart is to build relationships and future leaders through discipleship. We'll most likely start the evenings with relational ministry while breaking bread and finish with teaching/worship/encounter as the Lord leads. If you would like to join us for BCG, please email thorsby@theburn247.com and we will add you to a private facebook group for details.

We STRONGLY encourage our Burn commUNITY to engage with Craven24Seven. Sign up (as an individual or on behalf of a group) for one hour intercession and/or worship time slots. Don't be discouraged if you only see a few people signed up. Every hour that is covered is one step closer to 24/7. We've covered hundreds of hours of prayer over the last year and we are charging for MORE!!! Please don't assume someone else will cover the hours. We need YOU to sign up and take action!!!
If you are interested in serving at Burn New Bern as a worship leader, artist, shift leader, sound tech or intercessor, please see our calendar for availability and contact thorsby@theburn247.com to request a time slot and be considered as part of our ministry team. We're accepting commitments through June. We encourage everyone to prayerfully consider engaging for extended amounts of time... especially during the night watch! Pillows and blankets are welcomed for "sloaking" purposes!!!

P.S.S. We will be breaking our 40 days corporate fast on May 28th @ 6am as the finale for our Burn this month. We're encouraging everyone to stay the whole night and really GO FOR IT!!! We'll be cooking/eating at The Oasis/TJ's CAVE and it will be a FAMILY affair. Please make all efforts to be there!!! Game on!!!
