Hello Fiery Remnant!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope you're starting this year off victorious! Many of the Global Burn Directors (and some team members) participated in a global fast Jan 1-7th! We're praying for fresh fire, fresh vision and fresh resources in abundance this year!!!
Michael & Sara Thorsby had the privilege of taking a western NC (and SC) road trip over Christmas. We met with some other Burn Directors and amazing people on the adventure. We got to hang out with Burn Hickory Directors, Burn Winston Salem Directors, Burn Smokies Directors, Frontline/FireHouse Ministries Directors and other pastors/ministers and friends along the way. We get fired up seeing what God is doing in our community, region, state and all across the nations!
What are we doing in 2018?
The last six months of 2017, there were a lot of regional events conflicting with our regularly scheduled 4th Fri Burns. Instead of doing our own thing, we simply joined forces as much as possible to engage with those unified gatherings while supporting other local/regional Burns and community events for a unified effort. We feel that we'll be following a similar pattern for the first six months of 2018 as well. There are already a lot of regional events on the calendar during our 4th Fri/Sat gatherings this year so we're jumping in. We'll speckle in a few 4th Sat Burns locally while also engaging with our other regional Burn family and community gatherings. We'll possibly even do some mini-Burns with teachings at some local ministries to help expand awareness of what Burn 24-7 New Bern is all about.
We spent the majority of our first three years doing the 7pm-7am night watch. Starting in July 2018, we're going to experiment with the 7AM-7PM shift on 4th Saturdays for a season and we'll eventually add hours on the front end as we grow towards 24-hour Burns. For January, we're doing a 7pm-11pm Burn and hope to gather together for dinner beforehand. Details pending for host venue, but it will be in the New Bern area. We have a few venues available to us, but we also may sample a few neutral facilities that we're considering as a future home for Burn 24-7 New Bern. (We may be sampling multiple locations over the next several months.) Stay connected with us on Facebook and our calendar and we'll keep you posted as the Lord leads...
Burn Community Group - For the last six months of BCG, we shifted from food, fellowship, worship, prayer, and study of the word to fasting, worship and prayer only. The crowd thins out quick when you take away the food and get super serious but it was worth it to press in! We're looking forward to returning back to the Acts 2 home church type of meetings. We're taking the month of January off from hosting regular meetings as we'll be meeting intentionally with individuals throughout the month to help shape the vision of this coming season. We'll keep you posted...

We've had people sign up here and there throughout that time but we're looking for some consistent prayer warriors to rise up. We've had months where we covered 1,000 hours over a 40 day time span but many months where it's just a few of us covering 20-30 hours per month total. Every hour makes a difference so we appreciate those that are willing to commit!
