Hello Burning Ones!
We've had another exciting month joining forces with many fiery forerunners and presence pioneers in our region... and beyond. We're strongly encouraging our Burn 24-7 New Bern community to engage with other Burns, ministries, and churches over this last month of 2017. Branch out. Get out of your comfort zone. Build THE Kingdom. Build relationships! I've personally felt led to make commitments to lead, partner or simply support by showing up at other Burns and gatherings to make deposits into our extended family for the rest of the year! We invite you to jump in with us on some level. Lead a worship set, pray, sow or just show up and engage!

It's such a privilege to partner with neighboring cities as we contend for our city, our region and beyond! We're in this together! Even more important than what is listed on our "itinerary" is the work we're doing behind the scenes. I meet with local ministers regularly and Sara and I sow into individuals and couples quite often for discipleship, accountability, encouragement and simply living life together as we open our hearts and our home. It doesn't always have to be serious "meetings"! Sometimes having fun together and breaking bread is the partnership and fuel needed to sustain what God has called us to do individually and corporately. How good and pleasant it is...
What are we doing in 2018? Pending...
Let's take time to remember God's faithfulness as we ask Him for wisdom and strategic plans for the year ahead. We were a traveling Burn hosted by multiple churches for the first year. We were in a neutral facility for the second year. We did tent ministry the third year. We came out of the gate swinging in 2014 with 12 hour Burns including the night watch with limited resources. As resources shifted we maintained those hours for the most part. We had a few shorter Burns but also did a few 24 hour and even a 72 hour Burn... in a tent... in the elements! We feel God is leading us back to a neutral facility to rebuild, train and expand in various areas as a hub to better serve our community and beyond. We would also like to include a prayer room/furnace as part of the bigger vision. We're praying for the facility, the timing, the resources, the leaders/servants and the provisions necessary to sustain as the Lord leads. The hours/days for our Burns may be shifting as well, so please note the details in future updates. We welcome your prayers!
For the rest of 2018, we're going to continue meeting on Monday Nights @ The Hobbit House @ 7-8pm. Raw, unplugged, continuous acoustic worship and prayer for those who want to dig deeper. No food will be involved as some of us will be fasting on Mondays for the rest of the year. Please email thorsby@theburn247.com if you would like to join us. In 2018, we'll probably go back to hosting Acts 2 home church type meetings with food, fellowship, worship, prayer and study as the Lord leads. We'll keep you posted!

Sara and I have consistently signed up for at least an hour nearly six days a week since the launch a few years ago. We've had people sign up here and there throughout that time but we're looking for some consistent prayer warriors to rise up. We've had months where we covered 1,000 hours over a 40 day time span but many months where it's just a few of us covering 20-30 hours per month total. Every hour makes a difference so we appreciate those that are willing to commit!
