Hello Fiery Furnaces!
God has BIG plans for you... and the ministries He has called you to! I encourage you today to not lose sight of what He has called you to do. Don't look to the left or to the right but keep your gaze set on Him. It's easy to get distracted and feel tempted to lean in the direction where the masses are going but God has called many of us to a pioneering role and He often calls a select remnant to come along for assistance. It may seem lonely at times. It may seem like an uphill battle. The paved road always seems like the easier way (which we should take once in a while) but there are times when He has called us to be trail blazers. DO NOT despise your calling. You may be a pivotal instrument of breakthrough simply by your obedience.
I feel led to repost part of our TJ's March Newsletter from Sara Thorsby...
"The branches of our 'tree' are staying active in spite of not having a fixed brick-and-mortar location. The majority of what Thorsby (band/ministry) has been doing in this season involves a little thing we like to call 'tenting', where we are literally releasing the sound into the atmosphere over our region. We're not doing this out of convenience or out of a desire to merely do something different. At both the Catapult (Oct) and Trenton (Jan) Burn 24-7 events, we heard stories of people who heard the sound from the tent and came over to see what was going on. In Trenton, someone was already in their bed when they heard the sound of worship coming from the tent. They got up out of bed, got dressed, and came to the tent... and encountered a mobile worship experience! We feel like this 'tenting' season is strategic in that the release of this sound wouldn't be possible if we were confined to the four walls of a church or neutral location. It may be cold, rainy, logistically challenging, etcetera... but we are physically 'taking it to the streets', shifting atmospheres, striking the ground with the sound of praise, breaking open old wells of revival, and discovering/remembering God's promises to our region! It's a great time to be alive... it's a great time to be in ENC... it's a great time to engage!"
We felt the Lord calling us to partner our Burns with Mission Xtreme for regional/local tent ministry for a season and it has proven fruitful. We've spent multiple months in and around Craven County pouring out an offering of praise! We currently have no more Burns scheduled with MX but we'll see where the Lord leads as we blaze through this season. I'm sure we'll partner again! We've also partnered with The Jesus Tent (Ignite Ministries) at almost every location it has been planted over the past few years... including Azusa Street (CA). Sometimes the Lord takes us from city to city and sometimes from coast to coast! We're excited that they will be bringing that passion to our region and we want to put all of our efforts towards supporting this unified gathering. Speaking of tent ministry... we intend to be part of Awaken The Dawn on the National Mall (DC) for multiple days while 50 tents representing 50 states are pouring out an incense of praise! We don't know all the details yet but we know we'll be there! We hope you can engage with us in these gatherings as much as possible too!!!
